From March to September, 2012, Nancy Satin’s still life, “Life Is Just a…,” was included in an exhibition at the Lynn Museum in Lynn, MA, called “By the Numbers,” celebrating the paint by number craze of the 1950’s, which promised that anyone could be a Rembrandt. Coinciding with the 115th anniversary of the Museum and Historical Society, her painting was displayed alongside an 8’ x 5’ digitally realized representation of her image in paint by number format. Tear sheets of the paint by number image with corresponding colored pencils and markers were provided for the hundreds of school children who visited the exhibit and tried to reproduce her painting, as well as the others in the exhibit.
