OPEN ART EXHIBITION AT lightspacetime.art

This has been an unusual year for me, with so many commitments and pressures that I haven’t taken the time to enter the art competitions at the LightSpaceTime Online Gallery for months. So with just a few days remaining in this year’s Open Competition, with no restrictions as to subjects, I entered the last two paintings I finished this year. Instant gratification!! I received an email just two days later, congratulating me on being chosen for Special Recognition for the Painting & Other Media Exhibition through the next 3 months on their website: lightspacetime.art! The gallery received 683 entries from 23 different countries, as well as from 33 different states, so I’m proud to have The Duchess be a part of it. http://www.nancysatinart.com/2023//11/15/openartexhigitionatlightspacetime.art

4th Annual Primary Colors Exhibit | November 2022

Anticipation

The LightSpaceTime Online Gallery held its Primary Colors juried competition from August through October, receiving 596 entries from 23 different countries and 31 states plus the District of Columbia. It was a call for art that used at least one of the primary colors (red, blue &/or yellow) as a key element, so I entered Anticipation in the Painting and Other Media category. How nice to have received an award for Special Recognition today–the exhibit will be featured on the website homepage: http://www.lightspacetime.art for the next three months. #feelinggrateful

11th Annual All Women Art Exhibition | February 2022

Blue Mood

The LightSpaceTime Gallery’s competition for January was open to 2D & 3D women artists only and appropriately had an open theme. The gallery received 1,147 entries from women artists in 30 different countries around the world, as well as from 41 different states and the District of Columbia. With such a huge field, I am particularly proud that Blue Mood received Special Recognition in the Painting and Other Media category. The exhibit can be viewed this month, February 2022, on lightspacetime.art. Enjoy the all women show!

Special Recognition

I entered my first online art competition at the Light Space & Time Online Gallery in April of 2017 and have been awarded 8 Special Merit Awards and 25 Special Recognition honors for my work in 28 of their online exhibitions since, including the 3rd Annual 555 Special Art Exhibition that opened today. Double Exposure took the honors, my effort to simulate a photographic effect in oil paint. You can view the exhibit at lightspacetime.art through the end of the month. #feelinggratified

Always Good To Get Good News

Waking up after a wonderful but exhausting weekend at my grandniece’s wedding in Charlottesville VA, I found an email from the Light Space & Time Online Gallery, congratulating me on winning Special Recognition for Shall We Dance? in their 11th Annual Animals Art Exhibition for June 2021. Proud to be included among the 230 winning artists featured in the Painting and Other Media Category, there were 895 total entries from 29 countries around the world and 35 different states and the District of Columbia competing for prizes in the Photography & Digital Category and 3 Dimensional Art Category as well. All the animals will be on view for the month of June on lightspacetime.art.

11th Figurative Art Exhibition

The first time I entered an online art competition was in 2017, and it was for the LightSpaceTime Online Gallery’s 7th Annual Figurative Art Exhibition. I won two Special Merit Awards that year, then two the next, then Special Recognition in 2019, 2020 and now 2021. It’s an honor to be one of the 200 artists recognized this year in the Painting & Other (two dimensional work) category. It Takes Two to Tango and all winning entries will be featured on lightspacetime.art for the month of April 2021. While I enjoy painting still life, animals and the occasional abstract, figurative is where I live. I am constantly inspired by portrait and figure, which makes this kind of recognition so very meaningful.

10th Annual All Women Exhibition

I have managed to navigate pretty well through these strange and terrible times we’ve been living through, thanks at least in part to finishing ten paintings since last March. As much as I like a painting class, these days I’m grateful to be able to paint in my own studio at home. Good news also helps. I entered the Light Space Time Online Gallery’s 10th Annual All Women competition at the end of the year and was thrilled to hear that my tenth painting, In the Pink, won Special Recognition. The gallery received 1,093 entries from all over the world and saw fit to honor more than 150 of those women artists. The exhibition will be available for viewing on lightspacetime.art for the month of January. Some good news indeed…

Special Recognition

I’ve been working on a big commission all month and have hardly had any time for anything else, but I kept receiving bulletins from lightspacetime.art about entering their 10th Annual Open (no theme) Exhibition and finally sat down to choose the five paintings I wanted to submit, just a day before the deadline. The best part of entering near the end is that you receive the results pretty quickly, so less than a week later I find that Dancing the Night Away received Special Recognition out of 1004 entries from the U.S. and around the world. All winning entries will be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of November 2020. In these terrible times, it’s lovely to get some good news!

Some Good News

Splash

With plenty of time on my hands these days, I’ve been spending more of it painting and entering art competitions than ever before. It was lovely to get back from my walk this morning to find an email congratulating me for receiving two Special Recognition awards from Light Space Time Online Gallery’s 10th Annual Seascapes Competition for Spash and Mixed Marriage!  I don’t usually paint traditional seascapes but remain fascinated by the process of painting underwater images. And in a time when many people aren’t going to art galleries or art shows, it’s a privilege to be included in an online gallery show that reaches so many viewers in our newly virtual world. Check out the 10th Annual Seascapes Exhibition on http://www.lightspacetime.art for the month of June. Some good news indeed!

Mixed Marriage

Created in Isolation

Light Space & Time Online Gallery ran a competition last month asking artists to share the art they had created while in self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic. Since painting has been one of the things keeping me sane in a time when I can only see my children and grandchildren on a screen, I was happy to share the two large canvases I had worked on and finished in the last two months: Hair Love and Splash. A few days ago, I was delighted to be notified that one of my pieces had won an award and would be included in the Created in Isolation Exhibit on lightspacetime.art for the next month (until June 15th). The gallery received 1,189 entries from 30 different countries around the world, as well as from 35 states and the District of Columbia; 215 winning artists are now featured in Painting and Other Media. Speculating that Splash seemed more in keeping with the theme of isolation, I was surprised and delighted to wake up today to the email telling me that it was Hair Love that won Special Recognition. While many of the winners used the pandemic as subject, most of the works  were just about creating art in this strange time in our lives. Hair Love sits on the floor in my front hall waiting to be shipped to Town Stages in Tribeca, once it opens for business again.

A Perfect Ending

Lion’s Mane

It was a delight to come home after a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with the family to find that I had won a Special Recognition Award for Lion’s Mane in the Light SpaceTime Online Gallery”s 9th Annual Nature Exhibition. 140 artists were recognized for outstanding art in the Painting and Other Media category, and I’m thrilled to be among them. The exhibition will be online at http://www.lightspacetime.art for the month of December.

The Lion’s Mane is the largest known species of jellyfish and the most gorgeous, its beauty belying its powerful stinger. I actually painted the bottom view, which looked like a flower to me and hid its signature orange and red tentacles. I continue to find painting somewhat transparent sea creatures like jellyfish and anemones a fascinating challenge.

2019 Open Art Exhibition

Black Swan

Amidst the barrage of hurricane warnings this Labor Day weekend, it was a distinct pleasure to get an email from the LightSpaceTime Online Gallery congratulating me on winning Special Recognition in their 9th Annual Open Art Competition for Black Swan. The gallery received 782 entries from 20 different countries from around the world, as well as from 34 different states and the District of Columbia, so it’s a distinct honor to be included among the artists receiving Special Recognition in the Painting & Other Media category.

I make it a habit to regularly enter art competitions for several reasons but mostly because compliments from family and friends are lovely but no real measure of how good your work is. It’s mostly from juried competitions that you can answer the question, “How am I doing?”

Botanicals Art Exhibition

Lotus Series | Spring

Unless I have a commission to work on, I generally paint whatever happens to inspire me at any given moment, and while I mostly paint portraits and figures, I have painted flora and fauna, including sea creatures and pets, food and drink, cityscapes and landscapes. I entered the Light Space & Time Online Gallery’s 9th Annual Botanicals Art Competition, & was so happy to hear that my Lotus Series | Spring received Special Recognition and will be included in their Botanicals Art Exhibition all this month. With that kind of encouragement, I may have to paint another flower or two…

Open Art Exhibition—September 2018

Reach

How delightful to end a relaxing holiday weekend with the news that Reach won a Special Merit Award in the Painting and Other Media category of the LightSpaceTime Online Gallery Open Art Exhibition for September 2018! The gallery received 702 entries from 31 different countries from around the world, as well as from 39 different states, and I am honored to be included with 64 other artists in this category. You can enjoy a slide show of this exhibition on lightspacetime.art by clicking on the thumbnail image on their website, which will then display larger images.

Good Company

Rising Again

The LightSpaceTime Online Gallery ran a Vacation Special Art Competition (no theme) this June, asking artists to submit five images of their best abstract or representational art to be considered for exhibition.  The gallery received 1558 entries from 39 different countries around the world, 43 states and the District of Columbia. There were only five overall winners, drawn from Painting and Other Media, 3 Dimensional Art and Photography and Digital Media, so I was especially honored to find that Rising Again has won a Special Merit Award in Painting and Other Media. Take a look at www.lightspacetime.art to see the 84 artists in this category with me, since I can only show you a small sample here.
